Mentor IMC Group appoints new COO

International energy consultancy Mentor IMC Group has appointed Sean MacGloin as its new chief operating officer (COO). MacGloin brings over 18 years’ relevant industry experience to the role and will build on Mentor’s position as one of the world’s prominent oil and gas professional resourcing specialists.

MacGloin has previously been responsible for providing professional project resource solutions to major international energy projects and fostering partnerships with energy blue chips including BP, Nexen and BG. MacGloin’s energy industry credentials will help Mentor develop its strong global client network and communicate its specialist services to key players in the energy industry.

MacGloin’s appointment forms part of Mentor’s long-term strategy to build upon its successful 20-year-plus track record, and further expand its international network, which recently saw a new office open in Brisbane. With several offices in Europe, Norway, Asia, Australia and the US, Mentor’s growth has been highlighted in a number of industry leaderboards. The company recently ranked 24th in the UK Sunday Times Buyout Track 100, a league of the fastest growing private equity-backed companies, as well as 15th in the UK Sunday Times Profit Track. UK Recruiter magazine also placed Mentor highly in its Fast 50, a barometer of the country’s fastest growing recruitment firms.

“Working alongside Mentor’s dedicated team of energy specialists, I look forward to the challenge of increasing awareness of Mentor’s resourcing services, and reinforcing our excellent reputation in the marketplace,” says MacGloin. “To do this, we need to continue to attract the very best oil and gas talent, strengthen our relationships with existing and potential clients, and further expand our geographical remit. By accomplishing these goals, we will underpin Mentor’s value as a respected resourcing partner and deliver consistently on our clients’ expectations long into the future.”

Commenting on MacGloin’s appointment, Mentor’s CEO John Richards says: “Sean’s impressive track record of generating substantial business growth is fully aligned with our business objectives and will be beneficial as we move the group forward. He understands our culture of attaining the best calibre of candidates to reflect the high standards of professional service our clients demand. With Sean on board, we will be even more responsive to the many strategic opportunities the global energy sector has to offer.”
