Piping Layout Engineer - Offshore

PIPING LAYOUT ENGINEER - OFFSHORE required by our client, an International Oil and Gas Operator, to be based in the UK. This position will initially be based in the offices of our Client's London based FEED Contractor but be expected to follow the project to different locations, including fabrication yards, during the EPC phase.

POSITION SCOPE
 
Under the direction of Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for delivering a piping and layout design for the CPF & FPSO that meets the requirements of the project in safety, reliability, operability and maintainability throughout its 40yr service life.
 
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Ensuring project deliverables and activities associated with the FPSO/CPF design are achieved in accordance with project milestone dates, budget and technical requirements of BOD
  • Directing and advising Contractors on piping and layout aspects of design, construction, installation and offshore hookup and commissioning of the FPSO/CPF to meet project requirements
  • Providing guidance and input into Contractor strategies/procedures and specifications with respect to piping and layout design for design, procurement, construction, installation and offshore hookup and commissioning of FPSO/CPF
  • Participating in HAZID/ENVID, HAZOP's. Design Reviews, Constructability Reviews etc
  • Review and comment of Contractor/Supplier documentation in a timely manner
  • Coordinating Client discipline comments on Contractor/Supplier documentation in a timely manner
  • Monitoring and reviewing and report progress of the work in a timely manner
  • Organising regular progress/technical meetings with Contractor
  • Advising the project team on aspects on piping and layout design with respect to FPSO and CPF
  • Preparing technical reports and presentations as required
 
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
 
The successful applicant will need to be tertiary qualified Engineer with extensive experience in Offshore Oil & Gas topside facilities from the FEED phase of development through to detailed design, fabrication, installation, commissioning and start up. They should be able to demonstrate a high awareness of safe working practices associated with design, construction, pre-commissioning, installation and offshore hookup and commissioning of Offshore Facilities. This should be complemented by excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work with different disciplines and cultures.
