POSITION SCOPE
 
Our client is a leading provider of professional services to the resources & energy sectors and complex process industries.  Our Client has an immediate opening for a Technical Consultant with Materials Application and Welding Engineering  Material Selection Engineering Group, performs a wide variety of engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analysis within the materials selection (Metallurgy) discipline.  The position requires in depth review and approval of welding procedures from fabricators and manufacturers engaged in the design and manufacture of pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchangers and various types of rotating equipment.  The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified, proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices.  Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client or construction sites is expected.
 
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
 
Minimum B. S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy Science/Engineering (or related field) from an accredited university and  23-35 years of directly related engineering work experience. In addition, an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate and valid Professional Engineering (PE) registration is preferred.  Successful employment must have extensive knowledge and experience in reviewing and approving welding procedures to ASME Section IX Code.
