CONSTRUCTION MANAGER - LNG required by our client, an international oil and gas operator, to be based in Japan.

POSITION SCOPE
The Construction Manager is responsible to provide construction expertise to both the contractor and company teams, utilising an array of experience so as to ensure the best and most cost effective construction methods are used during FEED and through to execution.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsibility for the input into the construction planning of the project and assist in the evaluation and selection of nominated site sub contractors and construction methods during the FEED, detailed engineering phase and through to execution.
- Ensure best practice construction considerations and methods are delivered to the project for FEED and related activities.
- Act as an advisor on construction best practice to senior onshore team members as required from time to time.
- Maintain contemporary construction knowledge.
- Provide an interface between construction and engineering by supporting discipline engineers during constructability reviews for both company and contractor.
- Provide input to the contractor in relation to module and stick built erection methods and installation sequences, development of scaffolding plans, crane usage plans, manpower planning, Australian legislations, site preparation, underground works, civil, mechanicals and E&I.
- Coordinate with Client Operations team to meet design requirements of LNG operability, plant start up, pre-commissioning and safe operations.
- Input into construction specifications reviews.
- Input into construction schedules and installation sequence.
- Evaluate local sub contractors for site activities.
- Input and evaluate main contractor construction execution plan.
- Review construction design deliverables.
- Input into Accommodation Village construction development.
- Provide support to government approvals and permit requirements
- Input and review construction HSE plan
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- The successful candidate will preferably be a tertiary qualified Engineer
- Extensive experience in construction and engineering on onshore LNG projects.
- Demonstrated engineering experience in provision of construction, fabrication and marine technical advice for onshore LNG projects is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are key along with good organisational skills.
